Creation story
Everyone have there own beliefs toward god I was always the curious one. everyday I talk to stars because they have always listen to me and talked to me and tries to find the answer to how god has created the earth and us but I have never found the answer unless I believe in myself. One night I didn’t talk to stars and slept. That night I dreamt of someone talking to me but I couldn’t recognize who but it told me that God created the heavens and the earth.
First I couldn’t understand what it saying and why it is saying those things to me. Then it keeps repeats itself “god created the heavens and the earth”. It keep telling me that when God wants to create something, all he needs to say is "Be", and it becomes. So it was that God created the world and the heavens. He made all the creatures, which walk, swim. Crawl and fly on the face of the earth. He made the angels, and the sun, moon and the stars to dwell in the universe. It stops as I was so much interested to listen more it begins again.
That God ordered the angels to go to the earth, and to bring seven handfuls of soil, all of different colors, from which he could model man. God took the seven kinds of earth and molded them into a model of a man. He breathed life and power into it, and it immediately sprang to life. And this first man was called Adam. God took Adam to live in Paradise. In Paradise, God created Eve, the first woman, from out of Adam's side. As I hear what it was saying I start believing it I just felt all that he was saying is true and I should believe it.

Earthquake in Pakistan
Pope John Paul II is said to be the most recognized person in the world. During his year as a leader of the church, he has spoken a massage of task and trust to youthful people all over the world. When he was visiting Canada in 1984, he told young people that Jesus represents God’s love for us. He told that Jesus tells us that we can also live in love, like he had. Through the love of Jesus we can learn to love people that are around us and God. This demands a more specific attention to the world of so-called "old" age, in order to help its members to live their full potential by placing them at the service of the entire community. The elderly need to be understood and helped in this perspective.
As this report’s meaning is to look for other communities around the world which are helping the world to make it a better place to live in. One that I chose is about the recent earthquake in Pakistan. In this essay, I expect to discuss the services in communities and humanity that are helping others, how and why they are helping. Many have died and are dying over sickness and injuries unless we and our community take action to provide the necessary help they need. We can only imagine that how different the community would be, if it’s beginning with the family and it tries always to remain open and welcoming towards newcomers. Caring for the people made me chose the topic and also because of my background is from Pakistan, thinking about the people who have died could’ve been one of my relatives. It made me talks about the topic and tells others to help somehow, also to awake their love for others. We should all reflect upon how important it is that each community accompany with loving understanding those who needs it much.
A major earthquake on Saturday October 8th, 2005 with the magnitude of 7.6 measured in a rector scale; occurred in northern Pakistan. The earthquake also affected the adjacent part of India and Afghanistan. There is no confirm reports how many people have been died but it is thought that over 80 thousands of people have been killed however it has been increasing day by day. As well as the same amount of injured people they have been treating and treated. The amounts of injured and deceased people are less in India and Afghanistan; however they need as much support as it can be provided.
This deadly earthquake destroyed and badly damaged the northern side towns and villages in Pakistan. As most of remote areas of North and North West Pakistan have been hit, the access to these remote areas has been closed due to road damages. Pakistan's top priority, Musharraf said.[1] "Communication has broken down; roads are damaged," he said. "Telecommunications and electrical lines are destroyed." There were also triggered ground, landslides and flattened apartment buildings have been found. It is feared that more people may be trapped under collapsed buildings and hope to find them underneath those buildings and junk.
An estimated of three million people are homeless, and winter is just a couple of weeks away. People in the mountainous areas will start moving down for help as weather gets colder. People in Pakistan will have to suffer hail, rain and snowstorms; it’s making a desperate situation even worse. Winter temperatures in the region can fall as low as -5°C (23°F). The President of Pakistan Pervez Mussruf appeals for donating generously to Pakistan’s quake victims. With some towns and villages completely flattened, Pervez Musharraf has requested and required of continuous support from the comity of nations, donors and relief agencies in carrying out the enormous reconstruction and rehabilitation work in the quake hit areas. He told the reporters that Pakistan needed "massive cargo helicopter support" and aid supplies.
The President said that orphans, destitute, widows and trauma patients would be converted on right of way basis. The President renewed his personal commitment in reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts and said he would remain occupied in the whole process. The military demeanor search and rescue maneuvers are trying to reach the effected areas with the help of helicopters.
Pakistan and neighboring countries face many obstacles and dangers as they work to reach survivors. There are place where help couldn’t reach yet because of the landslides triggered by tremors have closed major roads. The large numbers of people, harsh conditions, limited road access, and limited helicopter airlift capacity present huge logistical challenges. Many of the injuries have become gangrenous because the wounds couldn’t be properly cleaned. Even many survivors whose wounds were properly treated have broken bones not yet properly set. As survivors reach field hospitals, the medical staffs have performed thousands of amputations to keep gangrene from killing the patients.
There are two critical needs that require immediate and sustainable response and for which immediate solutions need to be found. The first need is providing medical care and medicines to the injured since all government hospitals in the area have been destroyed. Teams of independent doctors from other parts of the country along with army medical staff are providing some basic access, however a recently set up army medical camp in Muzaffarabad seems to have no bandages, gauze or painkillers. The second medium to short term requirement is to provide some kind of shelter before the winter sets in.
To help the homeless people survive the cold, Islamic Relief and other comities will be providing quilts, stoves and reinforcement sheets for the camp. Islamic Relief has launched a worldwide $10 million appeal for emergency disaster relief for earthquake victims. Of this, $4 million has already been allocated for immediate relief projects. Islamic Relief staffs were on the ground within hours of the disaster, and immediately conducted a needs-assessment.
[2]We provided some camp management training to the Elders Committee and the Government officials in charge of the camp, to help them with distribution systems, hygiene sensitisation, problem identification procedures and the like, said Rehman.
Islamic Relief Pakistan's healthcare center in some areas began receiving and treating the injured soon after the earthquake. There are more than ten medical clinics operated by Islamic Relief in the earthquake-affected areas. Islamic Relief’s Pakistan and other Emergency Officer, Mr Shafeeq-ur-Rehman flew into the affected area by helicopter and gave a first-hand witness report of the situation. Also the World Health Organization has declared the earthquake to be of far greater impact than the recent South Asia tsunami; over three million people have lost their homes, their families and their livelihoods. [3]“We have lost an entire generation,” army sources said.
The Canadian international development agency granted $500,000 to world vision. World vision assure that they will use the money to purchase and distribute tents, blankets, and house items, to at least 5000 people in Mansehra, Pakistan. U.S. officials say they have sent $17 million of their original pledge of $50 million to groups that are providing assistance on the ground. U.S. aircraft have delivered hundreds of tons of food and supplies to Pakistan, and 19 helicopters are helping to bring in supplies and evacuate survivors. U.S. officials are also encouraging Americans to donate privately and are promoting an international donors' conference for quake relief.
U.S President George W. Bush has offered all assistance to India and Pakistan for dealing with the massive earthquake that claimed thousand of lives and left trail of destruction in Border States of both countries
[4]The people of the united states offer our deeps sympathies for the loss of life and destruction caused by the earthquake that struck outsides of Islamabad” bush said
The worldwide relief agency of the Episcopal Church, Provides money and recourses in time of emergency or disaster through church world service (CWS). It has had relief and development operations in Pakistan for more than 50 years. CWS is supporting 15,000 of the worst affected families with food packages and shelter kits, and providing medical assistance to 100,000 through two health centers. They are also providing house reconstruction kits which have done well in shelters. [5]"This is going to be the one remembered as the earthquake that killed the children," says Church World Service Pakistan/Afghanistan director Marvin Parvez, of the Oct. 8.
Many disaster like earthquake happened in the world, in which we are living in. Whenever other needs any help in any charity and any helpful organization every one took part in it like it’s there own family member who they are helping by creating those organizations. I would do the same in these conditions, helping the victims of any disaster and giving them courage to not lose their hope over the dead ones, believe in God and believe in themselves. Whatever it is, do not let the numbers simply wash over you. Do not let the freezing child or the hungry family suffer anymore. I ask everyone to donate for this noble cause. May God give courage to everyone who are effected by the earthquake.

My operating manual
Tuesday, September 26, 2005
My name is Madeha and you can me Diya if u wants or if it’s too hard to pronounce. I was born in the month of March and date is 4, 1990, which makes me Pisces and as a Zodiac animal I am a horse. As everybody knows that I am Muslim and Muslim’s have their own Islamic months but they usually use the English calendars. Therefore as an Islamic month my date of birth is 7th of Shaban, 1990. This year that date came on 12th September so I get to celebrate two birthdays which I think is great. I have 2 younger brothers one is in grad 6 and other one has just started the school this year, also I have an elder sister in grad 12 in Notre dame with me. I was born and grew in Pakistan where the national language is Urdu so I know Urdu, also Punjabi, including Hindi which is almost the same in speaking. We speak almost three of them at home. I came in Canada two years ago as a landed immigrant and probably getting a citizen ship next year. Funny thing is that I had to do grad eight twice back home I had finished my grad 8 but here I n Canada I had to start from grad 8 because they look at the age of year. However I think it’s was pretty good for me, to get an idea about Canada and their living style but still I feel younger.
I have many different interests in many different things. Such as creating, inventing and designing so I call myself a creative as in decorating and making stuff. I think, I am really helpful to people around me and many people have told me too. I like others to be happy when they are around me therefore I take care of those things and co-operate with them, all those things just comes naturally to me. I love to hang around with my close friends because they comfort me and comfort them. I don’t know what kind of talent I have, but I thing I am pretty good at acting out stuff like drams, scripts or copy a scene from TV. Others have also notice that and they have also courage me to join the drama club or to participate in those stuff but I am kind of scared to go on stage or maybe I am low confident or maybe because I’ve never been on stage before as a performer. Well, that doesn’t bother me because I think that talent is just for me to know. Other then that, I am not a sporty person except I just like the game, badminton because I am good at or maybe its really easy to play. My favorite subjects are art, a bit of science and math. I think I am good at those subjects. However if I try really hard, I could be much better in those subjects. I think those are some stuff, I really love to do, kind of weird interest I have got there but still in my spare time, I like to read graphic books or draw and paint.
I think many different people have their own abilities and skills to aim for their future. Some have several different skills and some have few. I add my self in few different skills such as creative/innovative, organized, and helping out people. It’s like what you like to do, slowly become a habit then a really good talent of yours. Sometimes, some ability are unsurprisingly comes up to you. I think it’s like me that I try to resolve a problem that’s around me help out others. Thus I think I would love a job that is more like plateful, caring for a sick people or at a community center. I am really good organizer because I keep my notes and any kind of work neat and tidy and before starting any thing I make plans, and list things I need to do and how long will it take me to do one work, those kind of stuff.
As my skills helps me to figure out my intelligences that I might have through those talents and abilities. Some of my intelligences are visual/spatial and interpersonal intelligences within the self and also between people. For the reason that I am good at creating and interpreting, clearly understand my feelings and others as well. Thing is that I can imagine things but it’s unusual or maybe hard to create things as I imagine and want them to look like as I want to. Plus, sometimes I don’t imagine things but I can make them as well as master piece e.g. most of my art work from last year. Mostly I am interpersonal intelligence within the people I can understand other people’s feelings their needs and purpose of others. Sometimes I could be a little logical because I find reason behind the things and tell other about my prediction but it distracts them. In other words I really don’t use that ability, and then I guess its how I am.
Having different skills, abilities, and thoughts could affect the learning style that you or I wanted. I think I am bit of every learning style of visual, auditory and tactile. Although having the survey from text book made me realized that I am more of visual, then tactile and then and auditory. Visual is because its easer for me to visualize in mind about what I’ve read and look. Mostly, my school notes, maps, charts and pictures help me a lot. Sometimes, tactile because I think and do highlights important lines, create and draw pictures and acting out stuff as in memorizing something is a lot obliging. Least is auditory because music or any kind of noise doesn’t distract me while I am working on my project or doing my home work. However I prefer them not to be on while I am working.
My personal characteristics are creative/innovator and organizer/manager types. This tells me, what type of personality I have, what things I enjoy and like to do. For the reason that, there are certain times where I like to make decision and take responsibilities for things. I like Trying out new stuff and things and is kind of my hobby too. I enjoy managing events in school or out of school as in funfair. I use my mind's eye to resolve problems as in using my own ideas. I prefer being challenged by unexpected and its help me to put more effort in my work. I like to be different and do things differently as everyone is unique in their own way I want to realize that I am unique too. I tell others to do things my way and tell them that I have an idea so why not try it out this way. People look at my personality by looking at my behavior, trait, character, and qualities that I have, which is quit obvious to find out through my likeness and unlikeness.
Knowing what is right for you, having skills and experience, good preparation and planning and other different things could help us find our values. I think my values are generosity because I am really kind to other people, creativity because I use lots of imagination and tries to invent thing even though I couldn’t but I try and try it to happen for reality. Also I help others and it’s logically come to me. I am very adventures person I attempt to find out hidden things and their meanings in life. I even read adventurers book to pass the time. I like having money around because they are helpful when we need it but I am not extremely crazy for the money. These are some of the values that I think I encompass. My priorities may change, but things that are really important to me now will probably important to me in the future.
I think that was pretty much about me that what I like and what kind of person I am. My interest, skills, intelligences, likeness and unlikeness helped me today for what I am. Those things change my personality that how I look at my self and how other look at me. In my point of view if you sees your self a careless or other characteristics, you’ll probably think other sees you that way too. However I’ll say it’s different for me because how I see my self at home or around my close relatives it’s the opposite in school or to front of people that I don’t know much about, it’s because I want to look more sensible and a different person. So I think that’s how I am and always wanted to be.

However I’ll say it’s different for me because how I see my self at home or around my close relatives it’s the opposite in school or to front of people that I don’t know much about, it’s because I want to look more sensible and a different person. So I think that’s how I am and always wanted to be.

Shooting in School
If we were to talk about shooting the first thing that comes to mind is that a crime causing death of innocent people. There have been a few scariest incidences as a high school student shoots other students in his school just to settle the score, according to a criminal complaint file. Hearing these kinds of news not only makes me but also makes other citizens unsafe. Even though there have been banned on guns but still the crime is on high rate is really scarier than watching a horrifying movie. When I hear these kind of news there is an amazed look on face that I can imagine which changes into fear cautiousness and a feel of pity toward the shooter and sad feeling for the victim. However, when I look back is there something I could’ve done or those are the only things that are left for me to do. I feel so helpless and so down just thinking that I am no good than that shooter who shoots out of pity. I blame all these shooting due to holding back anger and rage against a person also sometimes a victim of bullying who have been dragged into doing such a thing. There parents are also to be blamed that they don’t pay attention to there child who hasn’t been telling his/her feelings directly. Most of all the media is at fault who has been teaching the kid the violent stuff from their early childhood stage which is very sad. Again there is nothing for us to do to then just listening to those new and incidence in newspapers or is there something we can do….
101 Ways to Waste Time
I just noticed that Wasting Time is actually a pleasant topic to talk about. As we can see who doesn’t waste their time, every body waste their waste their time, even when they are doing something really important but does that important work really interest the person. Therefore, initially that person is wasting time. I believe, I’m wasting time all the time. What exactly is wasting time? As I asked myself, it is the question that I can never find an answer for. There are so many things where I waste time on even if I repeat what I did in the whole day I wouldn’t be able to find one deed which I call not be a wasting time. I can’t understand that if doing school work would be included in wasting time or not. Is there anything in this world which I can say is not being waste because even when I am thinking I am not wasting my time I’m actually am. I don’t know what to do other than waste time.
People say wasting time has never been so much fun, it is that I believe when we are actually not doing what we are suppose to do. Anyhow what I think is that noting is going on wasted until you call it to be wasted around. For some people the intelligent way to waste time is to be on internet but what I say is we are also on computer when we are doing a school assignment or chatting with a friend to ask for the missing homework, would that be consider as wasting time or not. Maybe wasting time is not when I have activities like after school club I am not wasting time because I like it there and it becomes much harder to waste time. However, to make my self think that I am not wasting time, I look at all the goals on my Things list and to not waste my time I actually get my goals clearly stated and organized s o I won’t slack off.

Do Ghost Exist?
As the title says Do Ghost Exist or not, I think mostly all of us at some stage had asked this question to themselves. In answer some do believe and some don’t, anyhow for me I consider to have a strong believe in ghost existence. I am not sure what exactly the reason for me to believe in ghosts, it could be that there existence were never hidden from me. I have also learnt and heard lost of real life stories of spirits and ghost from my childhood or It could also be that my parents believe in ghost and have told me that ghost do exist. Perhaps, it was taught to me that God has created things that are known and unknown to us, some can be seen and other can’t be and ghosts/spirits are one of them.
Many of us have been taught to fear the spiritual, the paranormal, ghosts and haunting. Its not that I don’t get scared, it’s just that the end of scary ghost movies amuse me. For the reason that I don’t take those stories over my brain at the point that they’ll haunt me every night. It is mostly due to that I don’t think of those stories being even close to the real life ghost stories which I have heard from my parents. One of the story that I heard from my mom was that she has actually has seen a fire lighting by itself, sometimes in small amount and sometimes in large amount at different places like in closet on the floor out of no where over and over. Their house would be called haunted as the word been taken from Ghost movies with haunted house. However, they had to move out of that house, as there was no scientific explanation to it other that believing ghost. That story actually made me wander that are ghost really wander around and exist in the same world as we human live in. therefore, I believe in ghost without any reason and with an open mind while trying to understand the spiritual world of ghosts and spirits from a clear perspective.

Art History Notes
Prehistoric Paintings
Subject Matter: There are paintings of animals in different shapes and forms. Most of the animals are the hunting animals but not all of them. The animals included are bison, bull, cows, reindeer, boar, wild horses and deer. There are also some birds and fishes in the back.
Style: The style is simple and yet so featured as the images are very realistic. Pictures are illustrated through kind of shades to give 3D look even though they are not on the flat surface. They used bold dark outline and some shows disconnection to show the space between the front and the back of leg. It’s painted that way to show action and movement in images as some of the paintings are large and powerful and some are small, helpless or slender and frail. Some painting shows animal in sleeping mode and some in galloping and crouching. The painters actually used the bulge parts and uneven surface of the cave to represent these actions.
Medium: There is only two color used in the paintings which are black and brown, and also shades of reddish brown. Paintings are outlined with the black pigment made out of clay and soft stone turned into powder. They were also mixed with animal fat and blood and probably some other medium to give the thickness and stickiness for it to stay longer and shine.
Techniques and Location: The two Cave paintings are located in Dordogne of France and Northern Spain. As being relatively close to each other they also have similar used techniques. Both were outlined with dark color, black, and afterwards shaded with reddish brown pigment. However, the Cave Altamira in Northern Spain are more advance in technique as the outline were carved in the cave wall with some sharp stone or object and then filled with the dark black pigment for them to stay longer. To apply the paint they not only used their hands but also used reed and bristle in use of brushes. There was also use of moss pad as a sponge and bone straw later on to blow the paint on the paintings. They were painted way down in cave rather than at the entrance.
Reasons/purpose: There are some reasons that are predicted through the clues found through paintings and objects of pre-historic time. Some of the reasons are that they hunt the animals for food. It is believed that they used the paintings for hunting rituals which help them hunt the animals rather than just be decoration to the cave. There were symbols which could be representing magic for successful hunting. However, not all the drawn animals in the cave were used for food and hunted; it is still mystery to us.
6. Key Works: Pre-Historic cave paintings of Altamira in Spain, circa 15,000-10,000 B.C and Lascaux (Dordogne), France around the same time period. The largest size of the paintings was bulls 10- 12 feet long, the deers were about 6.5 feet long and other animals average around 5 feet.
Prehistoric Sculpture
Subject Matter: It is a famous sculpture of the human from pre-historic era. It’s actually a women figure with emphasize on the fertility areas like huge breasts, big bulging stomach and thick thighs and huge hips. Artist even added the belly button and made it very descriptive. It doesn’t emphasize the arms and hands that are over the breasts from the side and are hardly noticalbe from the front view and also there were no feet to begin with as it had nothing to do with the overall of image.
Style: It’s a figurative art in very detailed and could also be very meaningful. . It has been painted with reddish brown color, less in shades and in hues.
Medium: The Sculpture is actually carved in limestone with use of some carving tools. Artist has probably taken his time to carve the details with other sharp rocks and the carving tools. They probably used blood and other stone powder for the color.
Techniques and Location: As said that Venus of Willendorf is made of very high degree of artistic ability which could be made by very skilled artist. As the details on the small stone is carved very beautifully. Especially the head it seems like the women is wearing a knitted hat of some kind and it shows no features of nose, eyes or lips making it insignificant or maybe having a totally different meaning and again leaving it very mysterious. The sculpture is found in Australia but is actually not from that region of Australia. It probably has been brought from another location because the stone is not from that region.
Reasons/purpose: Artist used a figure of a woman and with the given features it has described the importance of women as fertility figure. It could relate to every woman in that era or it could be meant to only one figure in the society who is very significance to all of them. It also captures the women ability to give birth and people carried it around to bring fortunes or charms. It could be some kind of amulet of some kind or a religious figure as for women in connection with fertility. It could also represent to them, as a figure of God and Beauty as named Venus, as in Roman goddess of love. It was carried around probably was to bring the individual with lots of luck, food or an heir. Again, the reasons vary.
Key Works: Pre-Historic sculpture of ‘Venus of Willendorf’ from Austria circa 25,000-20,000 B. It’s only 11 cm tall, and is very small enough to carry it around.
